This is the initial appearance of my work anywhere public, in a Boston Phoenix edition of late November 1987. I wrote the text, and tweaked the newspaper's rules by buying a mailbox at their office, as they wanted only legitimate businesses in their ads. I was stunned by the cost, and settled on a space much smaller than I'd planned, or than the ad probably appears here.
Astoundingly, when I bought the paper and flipped through the pages, the ad jumped at me like a shot. It was placed on the back of a full page ad, and held it's ground to the other bigger pitches.
(I shouldn't have said 'spirit of love' but everything else came out in a way I'm very proud of to this day.)
